Exporting more than 20 cartons and tableware has become a new highlight

From January to April, 211 batches, 1533.96 tons and 445.69 million US dollars worth of cardboard tableware were exported through Wenzhou Inspection and Quarantine Inspection and Quarantine Institution. It is expected that the annual export volume will exceed 20 million US dollars. Cardboard tableware is becoming a new export highlight in Quanzhou.

    Our export cartons and tableware are newly developed products by enterprises in recent years in order to meet the market demand. The products are made of degradable materials, which meet the environmental protection requirements of the products in the overseas market and are of good quality and low price. They are welcomed by foreign customers. At present, our carton tableware has been sold to more than 20 countries and regions all over the world, of which the United States, the European Union and Japan account for 75% of the total export volume.

    Cartons and tableware belong to food contact containers and will be inspected by the state on January 1, 2011. In order to ensure the quality and safety of export cartons and tableware, Wenzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau collects relevant foreign laws, regulations and standards to help enterprises establish the idea of organizing production in accordance with the requirements of importing countries. On the other hand, it strengthens the inspection and supervision of raw and auxiliary materials, requiring enterprises to use food-grade raw and auxiliary materials. In addition, the inspection and quarantine department also classifies the export enterprises, speeds up the release of products produced by enterprises with high integrity and strong quality assurance ability, and helps enterprises to obtain greater convenience and benefits.
